The Pond

The pond itself as far a we know is one of the best purpose built model yacht ponds in the UK, unless of course you know different - if so tell us and send us a picture of your clubs pond. It was built in 1928 along with the yacht pavilion to sail the large vane type pond yachts that were around at the time, as time has gone on radio control has replaced much of that, however there are still many families on a Sunday with the free sailing type yachts to be seen sailing from one side to the other.

The dimensions are as follows:-

Width :- 80 ft

Depth (Pavillion end):- 2.75 ft/3 ft

Depth (Lily Pond End) 3.25 ft /3.5 ft

Water content :1/4 of a million gallons of fresh water.
